Château Sigalas Rabaud 1er cru classé 1855
Spring 2016 was particularly rainy. In the midst of these rains, a window of good weather during the week of the flower, about May 20, was given by a generous nature. The result was beautiful, we had a potential of large volume. The summer that followed was particularly hot and dry. The clays of Sigalas having been soaked with water, the vines had all the reserves to thrive during the summer. Maturity took place quietly. This summer period continuing, we had to be armed with patience to see the Botrytis appear on our bunches. Heat and moisture combining, the mushroom has developed very quickly. We carried out 3 successive tries, the rot being nothing but noble, it was sufficient to preserve the balance so typical of Sigalas without excess of sugar. The harvest ended on October 22 just before the end of the Indian summer and the return of the rains.
18 months in French oak barrels
The very expressive notes combines bright aromas of fresh fruit: pineapple, apple, white peach with the usual floral notes of Sigalas. After the fermentation, the wines keep the shine and the crispness of the harvested grape skins. The mouth is intense but has a great balance. The return is as flamboyant as the first note on the nose. The fresh and pure finish continues, again and again. This 2016 wine is crisp, lively, and intense on his youth and seductive charm.

“Very nice complex fragrance delivering a note of candied pineapple. Its delicate touch seduces us. An airy and full wine, tasty and nuanced. If the part of the terroir remains perceptible, a just nectar texture allows it to express a multitude of nuances. Beautiful saline finish, long and intense “
La Revue du Vin de France
“A nose led by crème brûlée and exotic fruits aromas. Creamy palate, generous volume and superb velvety teture. Finish ample with a remanente sensation of freshness of candied citrus ”
